Technical Details

This site was written in Ruby on Rails version 2.3.4, hosted on Rails Playground.

Some of the technical details of the site construction:

• Restful controllers and resources.
• Partial and fragment caching.
• Integration with mailman using Net::HTTP and nokogiri.
• Unobtrusive Javascript (UJS). Used Low Pro to make UJS especially painless.
• Full use of cucumber for User Acceptance Testing. RSpec also in use.
• Updating back-end data from external data sources using ActiveResource
• Use external web API to get weather data.
